Historia Hotelu

The building of the hotel was completed according to the design of the famous Bielsko architect, Karol Korn. |

The hotel acquires its first name ‘Kaiserhof’ – in honour of emperor Franz Josef. |
|
| 1899-1900 - |
Eugeniusz Szarka becomes the owner of the hotel beginning its ‘golden years’. |

| 1922 - |

| 1937 - |
The Summer garden becomes converted into a new restaurant building. |
|
| 1938 - |
The hotel was taken over by Akcyjny Bank Hipoteczny in Lwow. |
|
| 1939 summer - |
The hotel was adapted to be the headquarters of the command of the Operation Group ‘Bielsko’ of the ‘Krakow’ Army. |

| 1942-1960 - |
Temporarily, the hotel becomes a hospital, offices and the Municipal Culture Club. |
|
| 1962 - |
Re-opening of the hotel. |

| 1991 - |
The partnership, ‘Prezydent’, becomes the new owner of the hotel. |

The period of changes and modernisation begins. |

The hotel changes its name to ‘President’. The name sounds more European, removes itself from politics while linking with tradition. |

Refurbishment of the Restaurant – the former splendour and grandeur return. |

The refurbishment of hotel bedrooms begins with the aim of ensuring guests 21st century comfort matched by the class and style of an 18th century building. |

Conservation works of the historic elevation and roof and window replacement begin. |
