Surroundings
There are not many towns as Bielsko-Biała surrounded with green mountains with so many interesting historic monuments and such a broad service offer. It is a picturesque town located at the feet of the Beskid Mały and Beskid Śląski mountains with over 700 years of history abundant with both military and cultural events. From the very beginning of our town, handicraft products have been created, with cloth making being the leading sector. Also the textile industry has developed. The town was formerly known as multicultural, as it was inhabited by Poles, Germans, Czechs and Jews.
Bielsko-Biała (German: Bielitz-Biala) lies at the height of 300–400 m above sea level at the feet of three summits within the administrative limits of the town: Szyndzielnia, Magurka and Kozia Góra. The eastern part of the town reaches the feet of the Beskid Mały mountains (the Przegibek Pass), while the southern part – to the so called Wilkowice Gateway.
